Jay was getting roasted again for being a simp after carrying Mia’s books to class, but he didn’t even care. At lunch, the squad sat together, sipping juice and spilling tea about who liked who. Someone tried to throw shade at Mia’s new haircut, but she clapped back so quick the troll who started it just sank into silence.

By the end of the day, the vibe in the gym was electric. The DJ dropped tracks, and kids shouted “vibe check!” as they danced in the bleachers. Everyone was chasing good vibes, clapping every time the team scored another W. Jay showed up in a wavy jacket, and his friends couldn’t stop hyping him up.

After the game, a senior pulled up in a new whip, blasting music loud enough to rattle windows. Mia yelled “wig!” when the cheerleaders nailed a routine, and the crowd went wild. Her friends screamed “yas” and “yasss” at the top of their lungs, while a sophomore tried to yeet a foam finger into the stands and missed completely.

Walking home, the group joked about YOLO and made up dares for each other. Someone said the new assistant coach was a total zaddy, and everybody cracked up. Jay, zoning out from exhaustion, just smiled—he knew nights like these were what high school was really about.
