Lowkey
Subtly, quietly, or with a sense of secrecy.
" I lowkey want to skip the meeting, but I know I shouldn't."
Put out
To extinguish a fire or to publish a book or a magazine.
" The firefighters were able to put out the fire before it spread to the other buildings."
Put up
To build or erect something, or to provide accommodation for someone.
" We need to put up a new fence to keep the dog in the yard."
Run up against
To encounter a difficulty or an opponent.
" We ran up against a lot of problems during the final phase of the project."
Savage
Describes someone or something as being bold, fierce, or ruthless.
" That comeback she gave him was so savage, he had nothing to say in return."
Set up
To arrange or establish something, such as a meeting or a new business.
" We need to set up a meeting with the new clients to discuss the project."
Shady
Describes someone or something as being untrustworthy or secretive.
" That deal he offered me sounds a little shady; I don’t think I'll accept it."

Feeling shocked, surprised, or emotionally shaken.
" I was shook when I saw the plot twist at the end of the movie."
Show up
To arrive at a place, usually unexpectedly.
" We waited for him for an hour, but he never showed up for the meeting."
Slay
To do something exceptionally well or impressively.
" She slayed that presentation, everyone in the room was impressed."
Squad Goals
An aspirational ideal for a group of friends, often seen on social media.
" Their vacation pictures together are total squad goals; I wish my friends and I could do that."
Take over
To assume control of something.
" The new manager was hired to take over the project from the previous one."
TBT
An acronym for Throwback Thursday, a social media trend.
" I'm posting a picture from my childhood for TBT today."
Turn up
To arrive at a place or for a thing to be found unexpectedly.
" We were worried that he wouldn't show up, but he finally turned up at the party."
Woke
Being aware of and sensitive to social and political injustices.
" She's very woke about environmental issues and often volunteers for clean-up projects."
Yolo
An acronym for You Only Live Once, used to justify an impulsive action.
" I bought the expensive tickets to the concert—YOLO!"
Zoned Out
To be daydreaming or inattentive.
" Sorry, I totally zoned out during the meeting and missed what you said."
