The lowest load-bearing part of a building, typically below ground level.
" The builders had to reinforce the foundation of the building to make it more stable."
Framework
A basic structure underlying a system, concept, or text.
" The new software was built on a modern framework that allowed for easy customization."
Frontend
The part of a website or program that the user sees and interacts with.
" The frontend of the website was designed to be visually appealing and responsive on all devices."
Girder
A large iron or steel beam or compound structure used for building bridges and the framework of large buildings.
" The construction workers used large girders to build the framework of the new skyscraper."
Grievance
A formal complaint about a perceived wrong.
" The employee filed a grievance with the HR department about their unfair treatment."
Holistic
Characterized by the idea that a system's parts are interconnected and can be understood only as a whole.
" A holistic approach to the problem considers every possible cause and effect, not just one part."
Hypothesis
A proposed explanation for a phenomenon that can be tested.
" The scientist's hypothesis was that the new chemical would be more effective than the old one."
Ideate
To form an idea or concept.
" We need to ideate new concepts for the next marketing campaign."
Impasse
A situation in which no progress is possible; a deadlock.
" The negotiation reached an impasse when both sides refused to give in."
Incentive
A thing that motivates or encourages one to do something.
" The company offered a bonus as an incentive for employees to meet their sales targets."
Incubate
To develop and nurture an idea or project over a period of time.
" We need to incubate this new idea before we present it to the board of directors."
Incur
To become subject to something unwelcome or unpleasant as a result of one's own behavior or actions.
" The company will incur significant losses if the new product is not a success."
Indemnify
To compensate someone for harm or loss.
" The insurance company agreed to indemnify the homeowner for the damages to their property."
Indictment
A formal accusation that a person has committed a crime.
" He was faced with a grand jury indictment for his alleged involvement in the crime."
