An acronym for Application Programming Interface; a set of functions that allows for communication between two applications.

Appraise
To assess the value or quality of something.
" The boss will appraise the performance of the new employees next week."
Arbitrate
To act as an impartial third party to settle a dispute.
" The judge was called upon to arbitrate the property dispute between the two neighbors."
Arbitration
The use of an arbitrator to settle a dispute.
" The two companies agreed to enter into arbitration to resolve their disagreement rather than go to court."
Articulate
To express an idea or feeling fluently and coherently.
" He was able to articulate his complex ideas in a way that was easy for everyone to understand."
Ascertain
To find out or determine with certainty.
" We need to ascertain the cause of the problem before we can propose a solution."
Asset
A useful or valuable thing or person.
" The company's main asset was its intellectual property and its talented employees."
Assuage
To make an unpleasant feeling less intense or to satisfy an appetite or desire.
" He tried to assuage her guilt by explaining that the mistake was not her fault."
Audience
The assembled spectators or listeners at a public event.
" The speaker addressed a large audience of over 500 people."
Backend
The part of a website or program that is not visible to the user.
" The backend of the website was responsible for processing user data and storing it in a database."
Bandwidth
The maximum amount of data that can be transmitted over a network connection in a given amount of time.
" The office's low bandwidth was causing slow internet speeds and frustrating the employees."
Benchmark
A point of reference or standard against which other things can be measured.
" The company's sales figures set the benchmark for the entire industry."
Bias
Prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.
" The study's results were criticized for being biased due to the researchers' personal beliefs."
Blueprint
A detailed plan for a building or a project.
