" The manager used a euphemism to tell the employee that he had been fired, as he didn't want to hurt his feelings."
Exacerbate
To make a problem, bad situation, or negative feeling worse.
" The new manager's strict policies only exacerbate the existing tension among the employees, making the work environment even more stressful."
Exemplify
To be a typical example of something; to illustrate by giving an example.
" Her dedication and hard work exemplify the kind of commitment we expect from all of our employees."
Expediently
Done quickly and efficiently to achieve a particular end, often at the expense of moral considerations.
" He acted expediently, making a difficult decision to save his company from going bankrupt."
Expedite
To make a process or action happen more quickly or efficiently.
" The company hired more staff to expedite the process of handling customer service requests during the busy holiday season."
Expenditure
The action of spending funds, or the amount of money spent.

Extortion
The practice of obtaining something, especially money, through force, threats, or blackmail.

Fable
