" In retrospect, she realized that quitting her job was a terrible mistake, but she could not go back in time."
Return on investment
A measure of the profitability of an investment; the amount of money gained or lost on an investment.
" The company's new marketing campaign had a high return on investment, as it generated a lot of new customers."
Revenue
The income that a company generates from its normal business activities.
" The company's revenue increased significantly after the launch of its new product line."
Rhetoric
The art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing.
" The politician's rhetoric was so powerful that it swayed the opinion of many voters."
Scalability
The ability of a system to handle a growing amount of work or to be enlarged to accommodate that growth.
" The new software's scalability was a major selling point, as it could handle a massive increase in users without crashing."
Sedimenting
To settle or be deposited as sediment; to become a part of something.
" The tea leaves were slowly sedimenting at the bottom of her cup, making the tea cloudy and bitter."
Shrugs
To raise one's shoulders to express indifference, doubt, or uncertainty.
" He simply shrugs whenever someone asks him a question, as he always wants to avoid giving a clear answer."
Sleepwalking
A person walking or performing other actions while in a state of deep sleep.
" He had a problem with sleepwalking, often waking up in the middle of the night and finding himself in a different room."
Smurf
A slang term used in online gaming to refer to a player who uses a new account to play against less-skilled opponents.
" He was accused of being a smurf after he won the game with ease, as it was clear he was much more skilled than his opponents."
Snoop
To pry into the private affairs of others, often in a secretive or nosy way.
" The new manager was always snooping around his employees' desks, trying to find out what they were working on."
Spitballing
Engaging in casual, unstructured brainstorming to generate ideas, regardless of their feasibility.
" The creative team spent the morning spitballing new marketing ideas without worrying about the budget or logistics."
Stakeholder
A person with an interest or concern in a business or project.
" The project manager had to consult with all key stakeholders before making a final decision."
Stashing
To store or hide something in a safe place for future use.
" He was stashing away extra cash in a secret spot, hoping to save up enough money to buy a new car."
Stodgy
Dull, uninspired, or overly formal; also, heavy and filling (of food).
" The professor’s lecture was so stodgy and unengaging that half the class fell asleep during the presentation."
Stooge
A person who is used or manipulated by another for their own benefit, often without their full knowledge.
" He later realized he had been nothing more than a stooge in the scheme, following orders without knowing the real motives."
